Church Update

The Lord’s Day and COVID-19 (4th Update)

Congregation of ZCRC(Imus),

We would like to update you again on our Lord’s Day plans and inform you about the changes, we intend to implement.

Our government places NCR and Cavite back to GCQ starting August 18, 2020. In our assessment, GCQ has become the new normal and we think this will continue until the coming months even perhaps the end of the year. We were praying and hoping we will soon come to MGCQ which allows gathering with 50% of the capacity but God, in his providence, allows us to continue under GCQ. So with this change, we as your office-bearers updated our plans.

We have decided to break the body into groups of ten. Each group will be led by an elder, organized by a deacon, and edified by an appointed licensed exhorted. We will begin meeting in groups starting September 20, 2020. This is after our 9th church anniversary live stream event on September 13.  Lord-willing, we will do it regularly every Lord’s Day, 9:00 am. Please wait for the release of the list of members forming each group in the succeeding weeks to come.

We have at least a month to organize and plan the details and logistics.

  1. For the time being, we will continue with the online live stream but once we started meeting in groups, only recorded audio sermon together with the manuscript will be posted in our church website.
  2. For encouragement, our pastor will personally meet the groups in rotation. He will preach, serve the Lord’s supper, conduct profession of faith with new members, and if needed administer baptism. And for times when he is not the one preaching, an elder or a licensed exhorter will read the sermon manuscript.
  3. For those who are unable to join the groups, they can continue doing their family worship at home, follow our short bulletin, and the read the sermon manuscript.
  4. For after service activities, Inquirer’s class and Sunday school will continue via Zoom but move to 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm respectively.

Let us pray for these plans and look forward to its implementation. Let us continue encouraging one another and pray for the re-gathering of the churches in the Philippines. Let us exhort each other with these words from King Jesus, our Lord and Savior: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14)”
